On November 3, 2024 International Magnesium Conference Week and the 8th International Magnesium Alloy Conference and the 13th International Conference on Magnesium Alloys and Their Applications opened in Chongqing.
This conference is co-sponsored by International Mg Society and Journal of Magnesium and Alloys (English), and co-organized by Chongqing University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Magnesium and magnesium alloys have been increasingly used in automotive, aerospace, electronic information, energy, medical and construction industries due to their low density, high specific strength and many excellent characteristics, and have received extensive attention from both academia and industry.
Chen Guiyun, Vice Chairman of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Pan Fusheng, Hou Baorong and Han Enhou, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Alan Luo, member of the U.S. Academy of Engineering, Lv Jian, member of the National Academy of Technological Sciences of France, Guo Zhenxiao, member of the European Academy of Sciences, Kwang Seon Shin, member of the Hanlin Academy in South Korea, Javier LLorca, member of the European Academy of Sciences, and Dou Shixue, member of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering, Liu Huaqun and Guo Zaiping, and Feng Yedong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Chongqing University, and other guests participated in this conference. Eleven academicians from all over the world and more than 1,200 delegates from 22 countries and regions participated in the conference, providing an important communication platform for the global scientific development in the field of magnesium. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Academician Han Enhou.
